For the first two decades of my life my daily routine consisted mainly of school, football and films. I’ve always been fascinated by moving images, but how could a child of Kurdish-Azerbaijanian immigrant workers from a small town in Bavaria find his way into the film business? I asked myself this question all the time. Still, I always had a tendency towards high risk endeavors inside of me. After having the chance to study in the US with a soccer scholarship I graduated in economics and started working in the tech industry. Gaining practical experience in the interior design, fashion, logistics and freelance verticals, I had the chance to work in London, Berlin and Istanbul.

However, after six years I eventually found myself without purpose and inspiration. Through a hilarious series of absurd coincidences (or fate, after all?) I was hooked on the sweeping story of Turkish youth gangs in West-Berlin and the man who shot the pope. I’ve never looked back ever since.

That was 2020, and thanks to YouTube, podcasts, Scriptslug, and eternal trial and error in the dark, I paved my way into the industry. Since then I had the opportunity to develop series for the ARD, Netflix, Odeon Fiction, Panthertainment and my own projects have been optioned by Zeitsprung Pictures as well as Ventaro Media.
