Mariama was born in Zurich in 1988 to a Senegalese father and a Swiss mother. Even as a child she wanted to make films and wrote her own screenplays.

 

She completed the NYFA One Year Acting Program in New York and studied film studies and German at the University of Zurich. After her studies she worked in the film production company Stories as an in-house author and concept developer.

 

Mariama speaks Swiss German, High German, English and French.
