Samuel Jefferson

Writer, producer

Samuel is Co-creator and Head Writer of original medical drama series, KRANK BERLIN, for SKY Deutschland, which begins production in Summer 2023 and will be shown on SKY ATLANTIC in the UK, as well as distributed internationally. In 2018 he graduated from the prestigious Serial Eyes programme at the Deutsche Film und Fernsehakademie (DFFB) in Berlin. Prior to that, he graduated with Merit from The London Film School with a Master’s Degree in Screenwriting in 2015, and that same year won the BAFTA/ROCLIFFE Initiative for comedy. Before attending The LFS he worked as an Emergency Medicine doctor, after graduating with a medical degree from Newcastle University in 2011, where he also wrote several award-winning plays. 

 

Samuel continues to work with many production companies in both the UK and Europe including; ITV Studios, BabyCow, SlyFox, Odelay Films, Delightful Industries, Hager-Moss, DRIVE beta, Odeon Film, Neuesuper, Nordpolaris, Made4 Productions, Violet Pictures, and Rose Mecanique. He is currently developing his fourth feature film script, and his short film, Der Junge Im Schnee (The Boy in the Snow) won multiple awards in the 2021/22 festival circuit, including Best Short Film at London City Film Awards, Best Film and Best Director at the Madrid Indie Film Festival. A previous short film written by Samuel entitled, Gypsy's Kiss won the 2017 Director’s UK Challenge ALEXA competition and was long-listed for a Best Short Film BAFTA. 

 

As well as his varied screenwriting work, Samuel is currently editing his debut novel, the first part of a cross-over YA/Adult fantasy novel series entitled The Pentas Collection. He is a writing consultant for Swedish games company MindForce Games Lab on their innovative medical app, Fig: A Playtient Journey, and for industry leaders, Riot Games, the creators of League of Legends.

 

Samuel is Co-Founder and Artistic Director of innovative new writer-driven development company, BRAINS.
